VCSmile by Design is 'Mercury Free' – Conventional amalgam (silver) fillings contain mercury. The potential toxicity of this metal has caused widespread debate throughout the world and mercury containing fillings have even been banned by some countries like Sweden. Although most research is inconclusive about the harmful effects of the mercury released from dental amalgam fillings, we have opted not to take any chances.
